Anifilm 2025 Celebrates Sci-Fi Animation: From Classic Masterpieces to Cutting-Edge VR Experiences

Liberec will transform into a haven for science fiction enthusiasts when the 24th Anifilm International Animation Festival takes place from May 6-11, 2025. This year’s edition shines a spotlight on sci-fi animation, showcasing everything from genre classics to contemporary innovations across eight competition categories – including feature films, short animations, and virtual reality experiences.

Czech Creators in the Spotlight

The festival proudly presents remarkable Czech productions such as:
• Kristina Dufková’s feature-length Život k sežrání (Life to Devour)
• Jan Saska’s acclaimed short Hurikán (Hurricane)
• Anastasia Falileieva’s poignant I Died in Irpin

Star-Studded International Jury

Esteemed animation professionals will judge the competitions, including:
• Diego Polieri (Argentine animator/director, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseScavengers Reign)
• Xavier Kawa-Topo (renowned animation historian and critic)
